A few questions regarding the reading functions.

1 - The "autoread copied text" option has to be enabled each time we start the application. Is there a way to leave this on? or could you please create a setting for it?
2 - "Stop reading copied text" has no associated keyboard shortcut. Could this be an existing Windows shortcut? Are you able to provide guidance on this?
3 - Would it be possible to add a pause / play option?

1)  The "autoread copied text" option can be enabled automatically each time on application startup by specifying following startup command:

Code Select Expand

press {APPACTIVATE Braina*} ^(%a)You may also start the speech recognition along with the "autoread copied text" option on Braina's startup by specifying the following startup command:

Code Select Expand

start listening and press {APPACTIVATE Braina*} ^(%a)
To specify the startup command, go to Tools menu -> Startup Command.


2) "Stop reading copied text" has no keyboard shortcut. There may be a technical reason behind it. We have forwarded this issue to our developer team and most likely they may add the keyboard shortcut in next version. Meanwhile, to achieve the needed result "autoread copied text" can be disabled and enabled again. This can be achieved while pressing Ctrl+Alt+A keys together (Braina's window should have focus). You may also create a global keyboard shortcut (so that Braina's window focus is not needed) by creating a custom command.


3) Sure, it is possible. We have forwarded this suggestion to our developer team.

1 - Issue is that command: press {APPACTIVATE Braina*} ^(%a)
works very well on its own, but does not work as a startup command..

2 - I see that Ctrl + Alt + X has now been added, thank you.

Has any progress been made with this topic please?

1 - I really need the auto read function to be ON at startup, maybe this could be a simple option in the settings? Systems are being used by visually impaired, and this will really improve their experience.

1) Specifying press {APPACTIVATE Braina*} ^(%a) as startup command is working fine on our system. Anyway, we will add an option to automatically enable Auto-read function on startup in next version.

3) This functionality will be added soon. Most probably in next version.

On the last remaining point, will enabling auto-read option from the setting still be added?

I can get it to start with:

start listening and press ^(%{S}) {DELAY=600} {APPACTIVATE Braina*} ^(%a)

but still not very clean. An option would be much nicer.

Option for enabling auto-read option automatically on startup has been added now in the latest version i.e. 1.32. Go to Tools menu -> Settings to enable the option. You can read the complete release notes here: http://blog.brainasoft.com/2015/10/braina-1.32-changelog.html
