Computer vision is a field of artificial intelligence (http://www.brainasoft.com/braina/) that includes methods for acquiring, analyzing, and identifying images from the real world. We use our eyes and brain to see and visually sense the objects around us. Computer vision is the science that aims to give a similar, if not better, visual capability to a machine or computer. The idea is to duplicate the abilities of human vision by electronically perceiving images through cameras and understanding an image.

Advances in computer vision can boost both the artificial intelligence and robotics fields.
